Cycling has a diversity problem. We want to change that from the ground up.

USA Cycling shows that 86% of its members are white. Out of 556 riders in the World Tour, 5 are Black. And in the major cities all across America, communities of color have twice as many police stops while biking compared to white communities, even though there is much less cycling infrastructure in communities of color.

Fi’Kir Cycling Club’s goal is to promote cycling in marginalized communities here in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti

We strive to grow the sport for Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBTQ+ people, and all who support them.

Want to help the movement?

Cycling is an expensive sport. A lot of marginalized people can’t get into the sport because of that financial barrier. If you would like to help, the best way is to join and donate! 100% of donations go back into the club, buying bikes to loan for those who can’t afford a bike, and providing affordable gear to those who need it

“Growing up, I never saw anyone who looked like me riding a bike for sport or as a hobby. It made me hesitant to venture into cycling, which I enjoy immensely now. Hopefully here at Fi’Kir Cycling Club, we can promote an environment so that no one is hesitant to try out and enjoy cycling.”
